Rev. Tim Lindhorst

I currently serve as Co-Pastor at Atonement Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN. As a married father of two grown children, I've personally experienced the power of Family Systems theory in managing my own anxiety. This journey has consistently reinforced my belief that effective anxiety management is key to becoming a more impactful leader, husband, and father. My ultimate goal is self-differentiation across all the systems I navigate: family, work, church, and community.

With over 29 years as a pastor within the SWMN Synod, supplemented by 18 years of Clergy Seminars with Dr. Larry Foster and 9+ years of teaching Family Systems theory, I'm still committed to learning. The core concepts—triangles, differentiation of self, nuclear family emotional process, family projection process, multi-generational transmission process, emotional cut-off, sibling position, and societal emotional process —continue to deepen my understanding. These eight principles have been instrumental in my leadership development and have profoundly improved my relationships in every facet of my life.
